AI-assisted 2-D to 3-D conversions have revolutionized stereo photography.  The Golden Gate Stereoscopic Society presents a stereo conversion demonstration by 3-D enthusiast Peter Sinclair.

Peter creates effective 3-D conversions with Photoshop, Stereo Photo Maker, and the popular web-based app LeiaPix. Starting with an historic photograph of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake aftermath, Peter will demonstrate his techniques and explain his workflow step by step.

Stereo photographers bring a unique eye to the process of 3-D conversion. Share your perspective at this free live workshop.

From the Presenter

This lesson is based on the way that I do 2D to 3D conversions. I don’t claim that it is the best way or even the easiest way. It’s just my way learned in isolation for many of the methods I’ve used. I am very open to learn ways to improve the methods which I’m sure others will know much better than I. I look forward to your input to anything that you think can be improved, made easier or faster.

My philosophy on conversions is that I’m trying to achieve a pleasing result where the flaws are not overwhelming. I am not looking for perfection although the method I use can be continued to better quality if one wants to or come back to an image to fix it up more later. I generally work for a while, looking at the results on the way and then decide that the conversion looks “good enough” and I stop working on it.

This may not be your philosophy and I respect that.
