Each year the Golden Gate Stereoscopic Society selects subjects for our Special Division slideshows. Anything goes at our Open Division slideshows, while our Specials give the challenge of shooting within the confines of a specific subject or technique.

| June 2026 | Frames within Frames | Use natural or structural openings (arches, branches, or holes) to frame a distant subject |
| July 2026 | Shadows | Make the shadow the primary subject |
| August 2026 | No Special Subject Challenge in August. It’s travel season, so we’ll meet once at the begging of the month for an Open Division slideshow | |
| September 2026 | Reflections & Refractions | Capture depth through glass, water, or mirrors |
| October 2026 | Action | Capture motion in stereo with your stereo camera or synchronized camera pair |
| November 2026 | Sight Lines | Show an uninterrupted visual path between an observer’s eye and a point of interest in stereo |
| December 2026 | Nighttime | Stereo after dark |
